History & Hosts
Three generations of hospitality – Aparthotel Iris in the Wildschönau

The Foundation
The foundation for today’s Aparthotel Iris was laid in 1972 by Walter Senior and Anni.
Even back then, the two were living their dream of running their own guesthouse in the Wildschönau – with passion, dedication, and true Tyrolean hospitality.
In 1990
Walter Junior and Monika took over the house.
With new ideas and a major renovation, it became Ferienhotel Iris, which for many years was a popular destination for relaxation, family vacations, and enjoying nature in Tyrol.

Since December 2022
Lisa has been running the house in the third generation – supported by her parents and her partner Philipp.
With passion, warmth, and a clear vision for the future, she continues to develop the family business, combining tradition with fresh ideas.
Between spring and August 2025, the property underwent extensive modernization: part of it was converted into cozy apartments for 2–4 and 6–8 people, the entrance area received a new look, and the façade was lovingly renovated.
Today, Aparthotel Iris shines in a fresh new light – a place that combines modern comfort with the charm of a living family history.
And we, the host family Gwiggner, look forward to welcoming you with warmth and personality.
